Jones, Strickland Named to All-PCL Team
09/02/2009 7:15 PM ET
Albuquerque Isotopes slugger Mitch Jones and closer Scott Strickland have been named to the 2009 All-Pacific Coast League team, a collection of the circuit's best players throughout the season.

Jones was selected to one of the team's three outfield slots having held the League lead in home runs and slugging percentage. The slugger also ranks in the top five in RBI and extra base hits. Jones, who is on pace to keep the home run title in Albuquerque for the third straight year, has tied a franchise record with three grand slams this season.

Strickland sits atop the League leader board in saves and will likely surpass the PCL record for saves in a season. He also has more saves in a single season than any other pitcher who has played professionally in Albuquerque, surpassing Dukes legend Dennis Lewallyn's mark of 24 set in 1980.

The Isotopes' franchise-record 13-game homestand continues with a series against the Round Rock Express, Triple-A affiliate of the Houston Astros. 'Topes' playoff tickets are also on sale now at the Isotopes Box Office, Ticketmaster.com, or Ticketmaster outlets. Tickets for any Isotopes game may be purchased at the Isotopes Park Box Office, at Ticketmaster outlets, by phone at 1-800-745-3000, or on-line www.albuquerquebaseball.com or www.ticketmaster.com.
